The goal of this project was to refine the user experience associated with altitude acclimation checks by enhancing the information display and adjusting the design in light of algorithm modifications. A significant design challenge was effectively conveying to users their acclimatization status at the current altitude, particularly given the constraints of a smartwatch screen.

My responsibilities included conceptualizing and designing the presentation of new information derived from algorithm updates. I focused on how this information could be displayed in a glanceable format for users while actively engaging with the feature. Collaboration with various teams was essential, as the design modifications needed to be implemented not only on the smartwatch but also by the app development team, which relied on my designs for execution.

The proposed solution involved showcasing the user’s current acclimatization status, the percentage of acclimatization relative to the present altitude, and a graphical representation of their acclimation history. This approach delivers critical insights regarding their acclimatization journey. Furthermore, we decided to provide users with the option to access feedback on their acclimation, thereby offering additional context.
